Admissions & Athletic Associate

What degree(s) do you hold? From what school(s)? What was your area of concentration?

Bach of Fine Arts from University of Houston; Bach of Bus Admin from University of Texas

What is your previous work experience?

I worked for a commercial interior designer, but mostly I did accounting work before teaching (tax preparation, auditing, and financial analysis). I did work for an international accounting firm, Grant Thornton, near the beginning of my career, but spent most of my time at a small consulting firm analyzing financial data for our clients. I have taught at Austin Classical for 7 years.

Tell us a little about your family:

I have been married to Brian for 28 years, and we have 3 kids. I have loved this model of teaching, learning along with my children and students, and watching them grow closer to Jesus.

What do you enjoy about Classical education?

I really appreciate the integration of subjects because I think there is a deeper understanding of the world around us. I love that my children have heard about God’s love from others, not just our family. I am glad to share this amazing world with my students and share the Gospel freely with them.

What do you like to do in your spare time?

I love still life and food photography and gardening: mostly small vegetables and cutting flowers. I read and watch videos about photography, read garden blogs, and read middle school action/adventure literature.
